Cast It On Over!

These past few weeks have been so overwhelming; a season of SO much change. There hasn't been an area in our life that hasn't been affected in the past few months (work, home, school). And we moved to a new home last weekend (seven people's stuff!). A bit stressful and very overwhelming!

Can anyone relate? Do you ever feel frantic in your heart because of all the “to do’s” in your life?

My health and energy level has struggled in the last eighteen months. Restoring my health has been a slow and difficult journey. So for me to be able to do what I just described (above) is a miracle. A miracle.

And I think I know the reason I’m still standing (or being carried at times). I know His Word has sustained me and wrapped me (and my mind) in peace when I should be feeling anything but peace. Yes, I’ve been stressed and grumpy at times. Yes, I feel exhausted and want to cry when the alarm goes off in the morning. But...then I read His Word and the Holy Spirit is so faithful to lift the load off of me and onto Himself. I have also asked (and asked and asked again) my friends to pray for our family. And I feel those prayers carrying us. I’m so grateful for friends who love us enough to pray. I just want to encourage you; when you need someone to pray for you - ASK. It changes everything.

My wise friend (Suze Fair) texted me such an encouraging word regarding my anxiety, I wanted to share it:

“I was just thinking of 1 Peter 5:7. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. There’s something physical about that word “cast”... to throw them? Place them? I don’t know it off-hand, but I do know it speaks to the authority you have because of Jesus. Take your anxiety and physically put it on Jesus - not only because He’s way more equipped to handle them, but because He loves you so very much.”

I know there is someone reading this today that this was exactly the encouragement they needed to hear today. I’m praying for the Lord to lift your burden and catch the anxiety that you are casting onto Him. He wants to do that for us. He is so faithful and powerful and he has authority over it all. Everything that’s weighing you down. Every single detail. Cast in on Him, my friend. He loves you so much.

Jesus, your love and tenderness toward us is amazing. We praise you for taking on our anxieties that weigh us down. Help us place our frantic hearts and minds in your very capable hands and release our cares to you. May we be willing to cast them upon your shoulders. You are willing to carry them and carry us too. Amen.

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. - Isaiah 53:5
